Laptop Batteries

There are three major types of laptop batteries. Knowing the difference between them will help you decide on exactly what to choose.

Nickel Cadmium batteries were actually the first rechargeable laptop batteries. Still, they are not being used any more for their being heavier and not as efficient as the later laptop batteries. Nickel Metal Hydride batteries work particularly for older model laptops. They are more reliable than the Nickel Cadmium batteries, and they have an even higher output. Still, they can also have a memory effect. Lithium Ion batteries are used in most new laptops. They have no memory effect, and are lighter than both NiCd and NiMH laptop batteries. These batteries are the most popular among the different laptop power sources.
